![]() Since its creation in the 1980s the downtown Metromover system has always been free of charge. This may becoming to an end though as city and county planners are now moving forward with motions to put a final vote on whether there should be a charge of $1 per ride on the Metromover. The costs to convert to a paid system will be between $2.4 million and $9 million and could it could take years to recoup those costs. There's also an additional $525,000 of ongoing annual maintenance that wouldn't including any issues that will come up in the future.
